Autonomous Vehicles (AVs) are intelligent transport system (ITS) that improves road safety and security by avoiding human errors. The possibility of developing an autonomous vehicle has been explored for many years indeed it was part of the GM Futurama exhibit at the 1939 World’s Fair.

With sustained technology development, increased investment, and raising public awareness, there is enormous interest in the imminent mainstream use of autonomous vehicles on the streets. Some believe that AVs will transform safety and efficiency and are making significant investments in this area.

There has been significant progress in technology development viz. a few eminent applications include automated mobility, pick-up, and delivery systems, agriculture, energy efficiency, and sustainability, and other domains.
