Prof. Sitikantha Roy is a leading researcher in biomechanics and human–robot interaction. His work focuses on developing wearable robotic technologies that augment human capabilities.

 

Wearable robotics differs from conventional robotic systems in a way it is inherently human-centred, requiring careful consideration before deployment. Ergonomics and safety are key design drivers, and personalization through human-in-the-loop optimization is central to their success. It will include recent experiences of how understanding human movement biomechanics and motor-intention mapping form the scientific foundation of wearable robotics.
