Abstract: While automation has long been integrated into various industries, there is still uncertainty surrounding the disparities between automation and Industry 4.0.
This presentation aims to provide a comprehensive exploration of Industry 4.0, encompassing its fundamental components such as digitization, real-time analytics, optimization, and innovative business models. Moreover, it will showcase several compelling case studies to exemplify the successful implementation of Industry 4.0. These case studies encompass a diverse range of industries, including the grid, fuse box manufacturing, semiconductor production, car/truck assembly units, the marine industry, and the consulting industry.
Notably, they feature both MSMEs/SMEs and large-scale enterprises. The presentation will also address crucial inquiries concerning the roles of academic institutions, industries, and R&D/Catapult Centres in the context of #Industry 4.0.
