Steering Towards Autonomy in Surgical Robotics

We are pleased to bring you the 61st edition of Cobotalks , IHFC’s flagship monthly seminar series held on the second Wednesday of every month. In this month’s edition, we are featuring Dr. Jaydev Desai, Professor and Cardiovascular Biomedical Engineering Distinguished Chair in the Wallace H. Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering at Georgia Tech and Director of Georgia Center for Medical Robotics (GCMR).

The details of the event are provided below:
Topic – Robotically Steerable Guidewires: A Step Towards Autonomous Endovascular Interventions
Date: Wednesday, 08th April 2026
Time: 6:00–7:00 PM (IST)
Register here: https://ihfc.accubate.app/ext/survey/16478/apply

Neurovascular interventions and chronic total occlusions (CTOs) are among the most challenging vascular conditions to treat using conventional endovascular devices. This talk will highlight the use of robotically steerable guidewires to address these challenges, including the development of the world’s smallest such device, paving the way for autonomous endovascular interventions.

This session will be an exciting platform for students, educators, researchers and entrepreneurs to get to know about the latest trends in the field of surgical robotics. Join in for a chance to converse with the speaker and for an opportunity to intern under them!
