Lab to Market (Jaipur)

Great research belongs in the world, not just on paper.

Bridging the “Valley of Death” between laboratory research and commercialization takes more than great ideas. It takes real market strategy, IP protection, and business execution.

The Lab to Market initiative by IHFC (TIH of IIT Delhi), in partnership with the U.S. Embassy New Delhi, just wrapped up an impactful 3-Day Training Workshop on Translational Research, held in Jaipur from 27th–29th July.

The event kicked off with an inauguration by Dr. Ekta Kapoor (Department of Science and Technology), Prof. Subir Kumar Saha (Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi), Dr. Sangita Garg (IHFC), Dr. Susha Lekshmi.S.U, PhD (IHFC), and Shweta Khanna (RELO, U.S. Embassy) setting the stage for three days of hands-on sessions on design thinking, technology transfer, finance, digital marketing, and fundraising.

A huge thank you to our expert speakers for driving such interactive sessions, led by Dr. Susha Lekshmi (IHFC), Ms. Syeda Borchmeyer & Ritu Arora (U.S. Embassy), Ms. Bindu Sharma, Ms. Shilpi Jha, & Dr. Nalina Singh (U.S. Embassy), Ms. Babita Chopra (Inflection Point Ventures), Mr. Mahesh Pratimath (IHFC), Mr. Anurag Bhatia (Vidya Sarthi Institute of Digital Marketing), Mr. Dr. Vishal Gandhi PhD,MBA (BIORx Ventures), and Mr. Sukesh Jain (Euhreka Consulting).

Participants also drew inspiration from real founder journeys shared by IHFC-incubated startups founders Mr. Anish Batra (Kaidoko) and Mr. Utkarsh Shah (Gatisheel).

The workshop culminated in collaborative Team Pitch Presentations, showcased before an expert panel comprising Dr.Harish Chaudhry (IIT Delhi) and Mr. Sukesh Jain who provided valuable feedback and mentorship, followed by an awards ceremony and networking dinner.

We extend our deepest gratitude to Mathew Walker (RELO, U.S. Embassy) and Shweta Khanna (RELO, U.S. Embassy) for this powerful collaboration, as well as all our distinguished speakers across all workshops over the last 3 months. Reflecting on this journey fills us with motivation to keep bringing applied research to the market in the most impactful and effective way possible.

As we drop the curtain on this edition, the Lab to Market journey continues – stay tuned for what’s next!
